Making games free for a bit is no frills way of getting new people on board
I disagree. Destiny has probably sold as much as it's going to. This is just a way to perhaps boost the sales a bit.

Sorry to break it to you but there's a quote from Blizzard's Mike Morhaime in the link above confirming Ghost's cancellations.
Morhaime says, "It's always really, really hard to make those kind of decisions. It was hard when we canceled Warcraft Adventures. It was hard when we canceled StarCraft Gho...
Technically, that game is in development hell. But I get your point.
The saddest part about Six Days is that it had allegedly gone gold and was cancelled afterward, because conservative Americans are immature.
That seems to happen to them a lot
It's nice that they making amends, but it still sucks that the expansion launched with issues.
Assassin's Creed Unity is the perfect example of this. However, i would say that that game's failings were a bit of a surprise. I mean there have been like a million of them already and they all worked great.
"The unfortunate truth is that games sell on hype instead of actual quality." - That is the gospel truth right there. Amen.
I think the console buying public is doing just fine. Just ask Sony ;)
I still haven't finished that game. I got bored.
I understand that these game are complex, but if you know you aren't ready, then don't release the game. Don't make your problem - the inability to meet you deadline - the customers problem.
And granted, sometime issues do sneak through, but how can you release a game with obvious, clear and/or gamebreaking errors.
Its one thing to release a game and know you have a fix ready. Its quite another to release a broken game and then tell people you're "aware and working on the problem". You aware well before that and did nothing and you weren't planning on doing anything either until a shitstorm happened
You can't fault the pricing and convenience of digital, but I'm really missing those manuals and new disc smell
I game mostly on console and I'm going to miss my boxed collection when the time comes
Its willful. They don't care about give us a good game. They just want our money
The Far Cry team have been reliable so far. Let hope they can do it again.
What the EFF is up with all these broken games? Seriously, its like glitches are the new go to feature.
It astounds me how this game just keeps on chugging along. It been 10 years and there's still 7 million people actively playing it. Is there another game with that kind of longevity? I don't think so.
Sadly, that seems to be the rule of thumb now with game buying. You should just hang back by default nowadays.
